Re: Original 1-wire Temp Sensor [ Read Responses | Post a New Response | Return to the Index ]
Posted by Benito Loyola on Sunday, 18 July 2010, at 5:00 p.m., Phil; I was just going to replicate the ones that I first got from you to expand the sensor coverage in my system. They were the ones that had the thick copper wire feeding into the heat shrink which I assume was epoxied to the face of the sensor. I have not had a single problem in nearly 4 years with them. The 5 piece DIY was a very low cost way to add 15 sensors to the system, that is why I went that way. Are you seeing a failure of them in the field due to corrosion? Mine are all mounted inside the home in my equipment room which is a conditioned space. A possible way that I can get condensation on them is from condensation on a cold loop return line. Ben

This site is all about building a cool, energy efficient house, that makes maximum use of earth sheltered design, passive solar heating and cooling, geothermal exchange energy management, and right sizing of the house for it's designated use. The home's placement is on a south-facing hillside in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. This site describes the design process, the technologies used and the expected results. We also have a comprehensive Links Page for anyone who is also interested in designing a similar project. |
