Posted by Lorne on Monday, 5 July 2010, at 11:34 p.m., You could cool or heat (which would be the easier of the two), but your pump would have to be big and the loop field as well. The coiling side would be the hardest but if you had a very cold well water to stay below the dew point of the the indoor house temp to remove the moisture but the loop and pump would still need to be very big. This site is all about building a cool, energy efficient house, that makes maximum use of earth sheltered design, passive solar heating and cooling, geothermal exchange energy management, and right sizing of the house for it's designated use. The home's placement is on a south-facing hillside in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. This site describes the design process, the technologies used and the expected results. We also have a comprehensive Links Page for anyone who is also interested in designing a similar project. |
