Re: A Request - 1 Wire Network [ Read Responses | Post a New Response | Return to the Index ]
Posted by Phil on Monday, 24 May 2010, at 5:34 p.m., One configuration you REALLY want to avoid is a tree-like network, where long lines "branch" off other lines. This splits signal levels and causes problems. Hey... there is an undoccumented (shh. secret) feature that I put in as an experiment which may help you. On your WEL system config page, there is a spot where I enter your City, State and zip. If you insert a '#' symbol as the first character of this field, the WEL will put the 1-wire interface into "relaxed" timing mode, which apparently helps on LONG networks. You may want to try this to see if it makes a difference (your mileage will vary) Phil. Responses

This site is all about building a cool, energy efficient house, that makes maximum use of earth sheltered design, passive solar heating and cooling, geothermal exchange energy management, and right sizing of the house for it's designated use. The home's placement is on a south-facing hillside in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. This site describes the design process, the technologies used and the expected results. We also have a comprehensive Links Page for anyone who is also interested in designing a similar project. |
