My initial reaction is that 'Months' would be great, and here's one 'vote' to support it.

The first (WEL0043) chart of mine I'd change would be my MonthlyEnergyConsumption chart. It would be great to put 2 years on the chart to show results of energy reduction projects over time.

Further, it's interesting to think about appropriate 'reporting' rate for something like a two year chart.

For an accumulation, like KWH consumed each month, ideally, I think there's only one number each month that's desired to be charted, and that's the end-of-the-month 11:59 PM sample.

Assuming one wants accuracy within 1/30th of the actual monthly total, with the current WEL charting capability, that means there needs to be one 'report' per day. So, for an accumulation, 150 weeks is about the maximum time length possible while still ensuring one 'report' per day. (My 50 week charts 'report' at a 3 times per day rate - 480 minutes)

I think longer than about 150 week time frame charts would be useful only if there's a way to capture the end-of-day, end-of-week, and/or end-of-month number, without regard to 'reporting' rate.

I've thought many time about how to do this, but, don't think it's possible with the current WEL charting capability. I thought it would be possible when 'Max/Min' functionality was added earlier this year. But, I have to keep reminding myself that there's no memory on the WEL. Thus, a 'max' of an accumulation, like KWH, across a month, is going to be no different than the actual accumulation. And, the 'max' for a given month will be lost as soon as 12:01 AM occurs for the 1st day of the next month.

Just some thoughts for consideration, and to stimulate comment from others.

Thanks again for making such a terrific product be so capable!

Best regards,

Bill
